Community Connections Café
The Community Connections Café was launched in October 2024. Its aim is to bridge cultural barriers by introducing people to the food and art of different countries. The Café runs on the last Thursday of every month in the Pyramid Room upstairs, and each session consists of the teaching of a recipe (or two!) followed by a beginner-friendly guided art project. All attendees participate in the cookery and art and get to share the meal we make. The Café is free to attend and you do not need to book on, just turn up on the day. After the Café has run for an initial six months we will host an exhibition of all the art people have produced across all sessions.
This initiative is part funded by a grant from Burnley Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service.
The next Café will take place on Thursday 29th May 11:00am-2:00pm and the theme will be South India. We'll be joined by Lakshmi from South Indian 4 Me catering who'll be teaching us all about authentic and delicious food, and we will be offering henna painting after our shared meal.

Councillors' Surgeries
---Please note there will be no councillors' surgery at the church in the month of May---
The church hosts a local councillors' surgery on the first Saturday of every month, downstairs in the Main Hall. From 10:00-11:00am, Labour Councillors representing the wards of Hareholme and Waterfoot and Longholme will be at the church to answer questions and give support and advice. You do not need to book, just come along on the day.
Ecstatic Dance
Ecstatic Dance
We're hosting ecstatic dance sessions led by James Lockley once a month here at the church. These will take place in the Pyramid Room from 7:30-9:15pm, specific dates for the next few months to be confirmed.
The price of admission is £15, £12 for concessions. If money is an issue, please pay what you can afford. Please pay on the door. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and dance barefoot or in indoor shoes. All abilities welcome.
Film Nights
Film Nights
We run a free film night upstairs in the Pyramid Room on the last Friday of every month from 7pm. Snacks and refreshments are provided and you do not need to book in advance to attend - just show up on the day. Donations to help with our running costs are greatly appreciated, but are not at all compulsory. We try to show a wide variety of films from all over the world, both classics and contemporary releases, but always with a theme we feel relevant to our religion and ethos of equality for all, or relevant to contemporary social issues. Though the films we show often cover serious topics, our film nights are always laid back and we encourage anyone to attend - our main aim is to bring people together for an inexpensive evening all can enjoy.
Please see the schedule below for our film listings up to June 2025. The film for May will be 2010's Mrs Lowry and Son. Join us from 7pm on Friday 30th May to see it with us.

Jiu-Jitsu Classes
We host multiple weekly kids' Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes delivered by Steve from Strategy Fight Team Rossendale. Classes for under 15s run every Wednesday and Thursday 5:45-6:45pm, and there is a class for under 6s every Wednesday from 5:00pm. Beginners and new attendees are absolutely welcome, and the first class is free to try. From then on it's £5 per session. Message Strategy Fight Team on Facebook or look through their profile for more information.
Lancashire Adult Learning
Digital Classes
Lancashire Adult Learning (LAL) are holding a free weekly digital skills class at the church throughout term time until the end of June 2025. It is a beginner-friendly course, tailored to your specific needs and the types of device you use. To find out more information about the course, visit the church on Wednesdays 11:00am-12:00pm during the school termtime - please note there will be no Wednesday classes either 12th or 19th February so there will be no drop-in on these dates either.
You need to complete a digital skills assessment to begin attending the course, and we are holding these in the Pyramid Room upstairs on Friday 4th July from 10:00am onwards. To book a free assessment slot at a time that suits you, either scan the QR code on the poster below, call 0333 003 1717, or click here.
If your completed assessment indicates the course we have here at the church wouldn't be a good fit for your needs then LAL may recommend other courses in the local area.

Line Dancing
We host a beginner-friendly line dancing group every Tuesday 1:00-2:00pm in the Pyramid Room upstairs. It costs £3 per person to attend a session - no pre-booking is needed, just turn up on the day to participate or find out more.
